  • Bond & insurance options
    • Bonds
    • A bond of varying value is applicable for all vehicle hires dependent on the insurance excess options outlined below. The bond is held during travel and released within 15 working days of completion.
    • Insurance Excess & Bond Options
    • Good news, insurance comes with every Kit rental. However with a standard excess of $4000 we do recommend considering options A and B below, for additional protection and peace of mind on your journey.
    • Option A
      $36/day - $500 excess (includes full windscreen & tyre cover) - $500 Bond
    • Option B
      $26/day - $1500 excess ($200 windscreen excess & no tyre cover) - $1500 Bond
    • Option C
      $0/day - $4000 excess (no windscreen or tyre cover) - $2000 Bond
    • Fine Print
    • Windscreen cover includes chip repairs and replacement windscreens.
    • Tyre cover includes puncture repairs and replacement tyres.
    • $75 administration fee may be payable for any claims.
    • Claim is null and void if any of the terms outlined in clause 13 in the rental agreement are breached. If option B or C are selected the hirer is required to pay the daily rate still whilst the vehicle is being repaired.
    • The excess amount is chargeable at the time of booking.
    • Any costs to repair damage caused by a third party may not be recovered as insurance is not compulsory in NZ.
    • Excess applies at the time of the accident if you take the nil excess option and regardless of cover provided by an independent travel insurance policy.
